Bourne: Prince Philip Visit

Prince philip is visiting a school in Bourne this afternoon to officially open a new training centre.

HRH the Duke of Edinburgh will visit Bourne Grammar School to open the Turning Centre which will house new 'Computing and Systems and Control departments'.

Headteacher Jonathan Maddox said "Our new bespoke building will offer our students the opportunity to study a truly 21st Century curriculum, developing knowledge of computing, electronics, mechanics and pneumatics from their first year all the way to A level."

Prince Philip is the most senior member of the Royal Family ever to visit the market town and, although it is a private visit, crowds of people are expected to line the streets outside the school to catch a glimpse of His Royal Highness.

The visit is due to take place between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
