Peterborough: Arson At Sofa Warehouse

Police have confirmed a fire that gutted a sofa warehouse, in Peterborough this morning was started deliberately, in an arson attack.

The business premises was reported as being ablaze at about 3.40am in Benedict Square, Peterborough.

A fire and police investigation is being carried out, however it has been confirmed that the fire was started deliberately.

Detective Sergeant Lisa Alexander, investigating, said: "The fire has caused a huge amount of damage to the shop and all of the stock has been destroyed.

"I would urge anyone who was in the area from about 2am through to 4am and saw anything suspicious to call police.

"I'm keen to hear from anyone who knows someone who was out late last night and came home smelling of smoke."
