Werrington: Post Office Saved

The Werrington Centre Post, which was threatened with closure, has been given a last minute reprieve.
Local residents signed a petition to keep open the branch open, following the resignation of its sub-postmaster several months ago, and Peterborough MP Stewart Jackson also campaigned to keep the service functioning.
The Post Office has confirmed that it has now appointed a temporary sub-postmaster until the position can be filled with a permanent replacement.
Speaking to Heart, Mr Jackson said: "The community worked together along with local councillors and myself as a Member of Parliament and we campaigned to keep the Post Office open.
"Thank goodness the Post Office has decided to put in a permanent manager. It's very good news for Werrington."
