As Neighbours, who lets face it had one of the most iconic TV couples in history with our very own Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue, celebrates its 30th anniversary we look back at the most loveable couples in soap and TV.

1. Scott and Charlene: Neighbours
Everyone's favourite teenage sweethearts had us rooting for them throughout their time together in the Australian soap. Heartthrob Scott Robinson and the gorgeous Charlene Mitchell go through their fair share of teething problems as any young couple do, but go on to get hitched and going on to having two kids together. 2. Den and Angie Watts: Eastenders
Not all paths to true love run smoothly, and no couple knows this better than Angela Watts and her hubby Den. The loud mouthed, alcoholic Queen Vic landlady is famous for a turbulent relationship with her man, AKA Dirty Den which sadly ends in divorce on Christmas Day in 1985 after years of adultery and unhappiness from both parties. 3. Krystal and Blake Carrington: Dynasty
Krystal Carrington epitomises the dutiful wife and devoted family matriarch. A socialite and the second wife of oil tycoon Blake Carrington she was no stranger to the oversized shoulder pad. Like any good soap couple, the pair had to overcome many obstacles along their path to married happiness, not least the unforgiving natures of Blake's two children from his first marriage and his meddling ex-wife Alexis, played by Joan Collins.

4. Bobby and Pam Ewing: Dallas
Primetime soap opera 'Dallas' wouldn't have been the same without Pamela Ewing. When gorgeous Pam marries into the wealthy Ewing family via the dashing Bobby Ewing, (he of the white toothed smile that you could see from the moon,) she is initially received with suspicion by her new extended family. 5. Vera and Jack Duckworth: Coronation Street
Another rocky marriage was that of Jack and Vera Duckworth. The pair had a tumultuous relationship due to their difficult son and extramarital relationships with other people. 6. Ricky and Bianca: Eastenders
If you were a fan of the Eastenders in the 90s we guarantee you'll be hearing Bianca Jackson's shrill voice screaming "Rickaaaaay!" in your head right now. Despite their bumpy start (Ricky cheated on her with Natalie whilst the two of them are going out), but the love birds finally get married in 1997. Picture: Rex

Will they, won't they… won't they, will they? The roller coaster relationship of Manhattanite Carrie Bradshaw and her older lover was followed with avid attention by millions throughout the noughties. 8. Alfie and Kat Moon: Eastenders
Sharp tongued Kat and loveable Alfie may not seem like the most natural match in the world, but we all know that opposites can attract, especially in the world of soaps. Fiery Kat has never had much luck with men, and it isn't until she plans to wed London gagster Andy Hunter that she finally confesses to Alfie's gran that she is in fact in love with him.
