ASBO success in Plymouth

There have been significant reductions in anti social behaviour thanks to the a team set-up in Plymouth.

Honicknowle has reported a 55% drop in anti-social behaviour in the last 12 months.

In addition Ham and Whitleigh in the last 12 months have seen a 21% drop.

The team were established in 2001 and a summary of some of the positive results achieved by the team include:

  • Nearly thirty crack houses closed including the Dance Academy Night Club in Union Street.
  • 55 ASBO applications since 2005 to tackle an organised youth populated gang.
  • A premises closure order to deal with a property whose tenants were causing havoc and distress.
  • Four ASBOs secured to keep well known drug dealers from the North West out of the City.
  • Halloween and Bonfire night campaign.
