A man's in a critical condition in hospital after an assault in Plymouth.
On Saturday 30 June 2018 at about 3:05am, a man was assaulted at the bus shelter on Derrys Cross in Plymouth, next to the Theatre Royal.
The victim, 35 year old Richard Ellins, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
Detective Constable Shaun Harris said: “We are appealing for witnesses to the incident itself, which occurred within the immediate area of the bus shelter. The area was busy at the time with a large amount of customers leaving the local bars and clubs as they were closing.
“We want to hear from anyone who was in that area at the time who may have captured the incident on video or photographs either intentionally or incidentally to come forward.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who had contact with Richard Ellins or knew of his whereabouts during the previous 48 hours prior to this incident."
A 22-year-old man was arrested, and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
