We have asked Shane some questions about his most memorable New Years and his favourite things - read what he has to say below!

Most Memorable New Years?

I met Christie my now wife at Christmas after she came to see me in theatre as I was working in Wimbledon for a Christmas season.
As ever the feelings were new & exciting and it was our first New Years Eve. It was fab!

Favourite place you've spent new years?

New York City as I had just arrived so my body clock was all over the place. I don't think I slept for 24hours.
However it's one of my favourite Cities next to London & to be honest I can't remember much about it? But I do remember the snow and anticipation for the New Year!

Ultimate new year's anthem?

London Calling because wherever I am in the world it's one of those tracks that makes me think of home!

Which Eastenders character would you most like to spend New Year's with and why?

Nana Moon as she was so special. I was doing Top of The Pops one Christmas and she asked if she could come along. It was terrific as all the artists were there with their record company people… and I turned up with my telly Nana. I loved it. She loved Top of the Pops! I saw her boogying along as I did my routine!

What are your top 3 tips to make a new year's party go with a bang?

Be with the ones you love.
Take a chill and cross your fingers at mid night wishing for a good new year.
Oh! And kiss the one your with!

After your show, how will you be spending this New Year’s?

I'll be with my family in a hotel near my home for a meal with entertainment and a band. Bring it on!

What 3 words would you use to describe 2011?

changing challenging times

What is your new year's resolution?

I never make new years resolutions as they either go wrong, or I can't keep them!
