Two men from Dundee have been jailed for a total of 19 years for the rape of a 13 year old boy.
Michael Riley, now 31 and Jason Millar, now 44, both of Strathmartine Road, Dundee appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, 17th April where they were both found guilty of rape and causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
Riley was sentenced to 10 years and nine months after pleading guilty to two counts of rape and one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity whilst Millar was given a nine year jail sentence after he also pleaded guilty to one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
Merseyside Police Detective Inspector Sabi Kaur said: "This is a horrific case which has left a young boy traumatised.
"Riley and Millar played on the victim's vulnerability, abusing him both physically and mentally. Both men have rightfully been handed this sentence, they are also prohibited from any unsupervised contact with a boy under 16 under the terms of a 15 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and have been ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
DI Kaur added: "No child should ever have to go through what this boy was subject to and I really praise his bravery in coming forward which has allowed us to bring these two predators to justice.
"I'd also like to take this opportunity to reassure and urge anyone who has suffered a sexual offence to please get in touch"
