Four women were seriously hurt after their car hit a safety barrier and rolled on to a grass verge on a busy motorway.
The accident happened on the westbound M8 opposite the Glasgow Fort Shopping Centre on Friday.
Police were called to a report about the red Suzuki Swift at 6.50pm.
Officers say the car collided with the near side kerb and safety barrier before it rolled over on to the grass verge.
Emergency services attended and the 66-year-old driver and two other passengers, aged 67 and 59, were taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where they are being treated for serious injuries.
Another 56-year-old passenger was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she is also being treated for serious injuries.
One lane of the motorway was closed for several hours to allow officers to carry out an investigation.
Police Constable Thomas Lynch said: "This was an incident which has left four women with serious injuries.
"Police officers are carrying out enquiries to piece together the exact circumstances of the incident and would appeal to anybody who may have seen the car prior to the crash taking place to come forward."
