A group of parents gathered outside a school after an 11-year-old girl was charged in connection with sex offences.
Police were called to the school in the Stirling area yesterday but the group dispersed without incident.
It is understood the alleged offences did not take place at the school, which cannot be named for legal reasons.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Police have charged an 11-year-old youth in connection with a number of offences.
"A report has been submitted to the Children's Reporter.''
