Man due in court after two police officers injured

Two officers seriously hurt

A man is due in court in connection with the alleged attempted murder of two police officers.

Police constables Laura Sayer, 39, and Kenny MacKenzie, 43, were both seriously injured at a house in Gateside Gardens, Greenock, Inverclyde, on Friday morning.

They were taken to hospital after they were allegedly stabbed while dealing with a call-out.

Police said on Saturday that a 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of the two officers.

He is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday.
