A body has been found at a farm by police investigating a man's disappearance.
Alexander Cameron, 67, was reported missing last week from his home in Newcraighall Road in Edinburgh.
Police Scotland said a body was recovered at a farm in Kirknewton, West Lothian, this afternoon and inquiries are ongoing to establish the identity.
A murder investigation was launched following Mr Cameron's disappearance and a 58-year-old man was arrested yesterday.
He was appearing at court today in connection with the investigation.
James Smith, from Kirknewton, was charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice when he appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court, the Crown Office said.
He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
The case was committed for further examination.
