A man is in hospital after he was stabbed in a random attack in a Glasgow street.
The 27-year-old was walking in Fernbank Street, Glasgow, when a man in a dark hooded top came up and appeared to punch him, knocking him to the ground.
The victim then realised he had been stabbed and contacted police.
He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where medical staff describe his condition as stable.
Police are appealing for information about the attack, which happened at around 1.10am on September 30.
Detective Constable Greg Turnbull from Maryhill CID said: "This appears to have been a completely random and unprovoked attack and it is vital we trace the despicable individual responsible.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Fernbank Street and Springburn Road in the early hours of Sunday morning and may have noticed a man wearing a dark hooded top, or anything at all suspicious, to please get in touch."
