Teenager hurt in West Lothian gang attack

A teenager was hurt in an attack by a gang in the early hours of Boxing Day.

The 18-year-old suffered injuries to his face and shoulder after being targeted by six or seven males in Livingston, West Lothian.

He was taken to St John's Hospital for treatment following the incident at 5.30am in Pentland Park, Craigshill, before being released.

Detective Constable Barry Carlin said: "The victim has suffered some painful injuries as a result of this attack and we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to identify those responsible.

"Anyone who may have seen the suspects, or witnessed any suspicious activity in or around Pentland Park in the early hours of Tuesday morning should contact police immediately.

"In addition, anyone with any further information relating to this incident should also get in touch."

The suspects are described as white, in their mid-to-late teens and wore tracksuits.
