Police are investigating two separate sex attacks on young women, one on a train and another near a hotel.
A 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by two men in Burntisland in Fife last Thursday. The incident was not reported to police until Tuesday.
The attack happened some time between 8.30pm and 10pm in Lochies Road, adjacent to The Sands Hotel.
No description of the suspects is available and police are keen to speak to anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in or around Lochies Road on Thursday June 25.
They would also like to speak to anyone who remembers seeing the victim, who is described as slim with long blonde and pink hair and wearing black leggings, a black crop top and a light-coloured jacket.
Detective inspector June Peebles said: "We are currently trying to determine exactly what has happened during this incident and would urge members of the public who can assist with our investigation to come forward.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or make an anonymous report through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.''
In the earlier incident, a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on board a train travelling between Alexandria and Dalmuir stations on Monday June 22.
The attack happened between 7.40pm and 7.55pm. The woman was left upset and extremely shaken following the incident.
The man responsible for the assault got off the train at Dalmuir station at about 8.15pm.
He is described as being about 5ft 7ins, with dirty blond hair and with grazes on his forehead.
He was wearing jeans and a distinctive blue and black striped jumper with a red stripe on the front of it.
