War of words! From releasing all that pain and turning it into music, to nasty battles over Twitter, all these celebrities have had a word or two to say about their former partners.
Perrie may need to wash her mouth out with soap after she seemingly called out her ex-fiance Zayn Malik for being a "d**k" throughout their relationship. The Little Mix star was left devastated when the former One Direction star broke off their two-year engagement in August but now she appears to be giving a piece of her mind in her new song 'Hair' which contains the lyric "‘He was just a d**k and I knew it". Ouch! Is it about Zayn? Picture: Instagram
When rapper, Kanye West split from former stripper, Amber Rose in 2010 it seemed amicable enough but once he started dating Kim Kardashian things really got nasty. Amber Rose called the reality TV star a “home-wrecker and Kanye responded by saying: “I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim,”. Ouch! Picture: PA
Channelling heartbreak into music is nothing new and that's exactly what Ed Sheeran reportedly did when he penned his song 'Don't' about his ex and fellow pop singer, Ellie Goulding. The lyrics read: "Trust and respect is what we do this for, I never intended to be next but you didn’t need to take him to bed, that’s all and I never saw him as a threat until you disappeared with him". The 24-year-old however, has since admitted that he's forgiven her and is totally over it. Picture: Getty
In a 2011 interview with 'Parade' magazine Brad described how, while searching for a movie role with a character who he felt had a thrilling life, he realised he wasn’t enjoying his own life to the fullest: “I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.” Way harsh Brad.
Fans were distraught when pop’s golden couple split in 2002 after rumours that Britney had cheated with her lead back up dancer, Wade Robson. The only good thing that came out of the breakup was the release of Justin’s legendary ballad 'Cry Me a River.' In the video he gets his revenge by having his Britney-lookalike girlfriend just happen to catch him making out with another girl. It might not have brought Britney running back to his arms, but it did win him a Grammy.
The Disney Channel star and 'Baby' singer were the biggest on/off couple in tweendom, but while on one of their longer breaks Selena Gomez appeared on 'The David Letterman Show' and made a rather embarrassing comment about Justin. When presenter, Letterman revealed he’d made Justin cry, Selena replied: “Well then, that makes two of us.”
When the Rolling Stones rocker got together with the model in the '70s, Jerry Hall claimed that she curbed his drug habit but couldn't stop his philandering. She accused him of cheating on her multiple times during their relationship and after they split, said: "Although I loved him and he swore undying love for me, I felt very unsure of him. I had weaned him off drugs, but they had been replaced by sex." Picture: PA
While not a direct hit on his ex, in a 2012 'Washington Post' interview the 'Argo' actor described their 2003 bomb 'Gigli' as, "So gross it's destructive to my career, it’s destructive to my soul, to my everything." Don't hold back Ben. Tell us what you really thought.
While Taylor has a habit of dissing all her exes through the power of song, she went for the less subtle approach at the 2013 MTV VMAs. During the acceptance speech by former boyfriend, Harry Styles and the One Direction boys she was spotted telling the guys to "shut up". Come on Swifty, shake it off. Picture: Flynet
Love was in the air when the singer married the British director in 2000 but there was a far more pungent odour floating about when they divorced seven and a half years later. Confiding to 'The Sun' she said, “I did find myself sometimes in a state of conflict. There were many times when I wanted to express myself as an artist in ways that I don't think my ex-husband felt comfortable with.” Most notably when he was directing her in 'Swept Away', the film voted Worst Movie of 2002. Awkward.
One-time gooey-eyed newlyweds, Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen seem to have a permanent "It's complicated" Facebook status these days. Last year on Twitter Charlie told his ex-missus, “hey Denise. I own the farm. Yet you are only [a] pig in the pen.” Oink, oink Charlie. Picture: PA
Everyone's best 'Friend' Jennifer Aniston and serial dater, John Mayer were an item for a year from 2008 before the age difference just got too much. In 2012 he told 'Playboy' magazine "If Jennifer Aniston knows how to use BitTorrent, I’ll eat my shoe. One of the most significant differences between us was that I was tweeting. I think she’s still hoping it goes back to 1998." Don't worry Jen, we love you in any year.
La Lopez has always been one to tell it like it is and when she was given the chance to unload on ex-husband Marc Anthony, she gave him both barrels. When asked by late night TV host, Andy Cohen what she looked for in a man she answered: “Type-wise, I’m not a looks person. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, over the years.” Given that she and Anthony had twins together, you have to imagine Jennifer is hoping they take after her in the looks department.
These galpals always had a turbulent relationship: sometimes appearing inseparable, other times physically fighting in public or posting nasty twitter rants. In an interview with 'US Weekly', the 'Parent Trap' actress described her relationship with Ronson as, “Two toxic people cannot be together. End of story.” Sad times.
When a fan called a live TV show in 2014 and asked Sophie when was the last time she’d seen her ex-husband, ex-co-star, ex-everything, Chad she responded, "My mother once said to me that if you don’t have anything nice to say, not to say anything at all." Guess that rules out a 'One Tree Hill' reunion any-time soon. Picture: PA
The singer-songwriter and Swedish actress and model only dated for two years in the '70s, but after they split she spoke out about his stingy habits, saying: “He was so mean it hurt him to go to the bathroom." Wow. Picture: PA
