26 January 2018, 12:15
The host finally opens up about what it was like to be apart from Ant for so long.
Ant & Dec have been pretty much inseparable since they were 13 years old, and have worked together ever since.
So it comes as no shock that it was hard for the pair to be apart during Ant McPartlin’s rehab stint last year - due to his painkiller addiction.

Now that Ant’s all better, Declan Donnelly has finally opened up about how he felt during that period of time.
He explained: “We were apart for longer than we’ve ever been before but it was for the best.
“We’ve not worked apart since we were 13 years old.”
He went on to explain how odd it was to be away from Ant, telling The Daily Star: “It’s weird, it’s just odd and even when we’re not working we hang out together, we live in the same street, we play golf together.” - Aww.
Before their presenting career kicked off, the pair tried their hand at acting, starring in Byker Grove at the tender age of 13.
They then went on to release the hit single “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble” in 1994, going by the names ‘PJ and Duncan”.
Fast forward a few years and they’re huge stars, recently winning best Challenge Show for I’m A Celebrity, the first Bruce Forsyth award for Saturday Night Takeaway and, Best Presenter for the 17th year running at the NTAs.
Good to see you guys reunited again, and doing what you do best!
