2. Now: Henry Thomas
After playing the role of lonely 10-year-old Elliott in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial in 1982, Henry, now aged 43, returned to his hometown of Texas, where he focused on school, and took on a string of film roles every now and again, notably 'Gangs of New York' and 'Dear John'. He is married and has a daughter named Hazel.

Who doesn't love Drew Barrymore? Now aged 40, she is happily married to Will Koperman and they have two children together. Most importantly she has starred in some our favourite films including 'Charlie's Angels' and 'Never Been Kissed'.

Robert MacNaughton was so impressive in his role as Elliot's older brother Michael that his acting skills even earned him a Young Artist Award in 1982 as Best Young Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. The star, who was only 16-years-old at the time, was bit of a teen heart throb. Picture: Rex

6. Now: Robert MacNaughton
After 'E.T The Extra Terrestrial' Robert went on star in numerous theatre shows, but he eventually quit acting in 2002. Since then he's lead a normal life quitting the bright lights to become a mail carrier in Arizona and New Jersey where he currently lives with wife Bianca, his son, Noah and 3 stepsons.

8. Peter Coyote
It's safe to say that Peter has been on a spiritual journey since starring in E.T. The 70-year-old actor has been a practitioner of American Zen Buddhism and later became an ordained lay priest in Zen, the Japanese tradition. He has also appeared in over 120 films, including 'Erin Brockovich' in 2000.

Dee Wallace has became a household name in the 70s and 80s garnering cult icon status in the horror flick genre, with roles in 'The Howling in 1981, and 'Cujo' in 1983 before starring in 2007 horror flick 'Halloween'. Outside of acting the 63-year-old actress is a motivational public speaker and a self-help author.
