The Artist triumphs at Golden Globes

The Artist picked up more prizes than any other film at last night’s 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

The French film won three awards, including Best Motion Picture, Music or Comedy.

The star of the film, Jean Dujardin, picked up the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy gong, and composer Ludovic Bource won recognition for Best Original Score.

It may seem unusual that a silent black and white film should emerge so victorious, but the Golden Globes are just the latest triumph for the French film. The Artist won Best Picture at the Critics’ Choice Awards last week, and is hotly tipped for the Best Picture gong at the Academy Awards next month.
