Meryl Streep has said she ‘can’t believe’ she swore during her acceptance speech at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
The 62-year-old was awarded the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, award for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.
The film star forgot to take her glasses to the podium and exclaimed: ‘Oh, s**t, my glasses!’
‘I can’t believe I said s**t on TV,’ she reportedly said backstage at the ceremony. ‘I had such a good speech and I couldn’t see it. Even if you held it in the front row, I couldn’t read it because I left my glasses at the table.’
Streep is a hot contender for a gong at next month’s Academy Awards.
