Family relations can be a tricky business! We all know how important it is to make an effort with your partner's family. However, the path to a peaceful and happy life doesn't always run smoothly, even for the rich and famous. We look at some of some famous faces and their intense relationships with their in-laws.
Horner's parents Garry and Sara have decided not to attend his wedding to Geri Halliwell, 42. It seems that they are still upset because the Formula One boss left his partner of 14 years, Beverley Allen, soon after she gave birth to their daughter Olivia. When Donnie Wahlberg fell in love and married Jenny McCarthy, it reportedly caused some tension with the rest of one of most successful Hollywood reality TV families. "The strained relationships came to a head when Donnie's family including Mark and Robert, as well as their mum Alma - all skipped the ceremony" reports 'Star Magazine'. As viewers of the tight-knit families show 'The Wahlburgers' will know, the Wahlberg matriarch Alma is a force to be reckoned with. Good luck Jenny!
Star of hit reality TV show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians', mother to a huge extended family and celebrity in her own right, Kris Jenner is undoubtedly one of the most famous matriarchs in show business. The 59-year-old certainly has her work cut out for her with her brood and as fans of her TV show will know, Kris is one lady you don't want to mess with. Luckily her daughter Kim's rapper husband Kanye West reportedly gets along famously with his mother-in-law.
By all accounts, funny man Charlie was a bit of a ladies man in his day. After three unsuccessful marriages, the silent film icon went on to wed 17-year-old Oona O'Neill. Perhaps needless to say, the young ladies father Eugene O'Neill, who was only six months younger than, strong disproved of the match promptly disowning his daughter. The couple however, stayed storing, going on to have eight children together!

Relations between the bad-mouthed celebrity chef and his mother-in-law hit an all time low, when the former wrote an open letter in 'The Telegraph' criticising her and her husband for meddling in his families lives and his work. In the letter the famous cook spoke out in support of his wife stating: "She’s an amazing woman and you’ve been a fantastic mum please don’t stop!"
The Oscar-winning actor has always admired the famous American playwright: "There's something about Arthur that mades you wish he was your father" he famously declared whilst working on the move adaption of 'The Crucible' in 1996. What could be more fortuitous therefore, than the 'Lincoln' actor getting hitched to Miller's daughter Rebecca Miller? Now that's what we call ideal!

The 71-year-old actress is apparently even a fan of her former-son-in-law's music: "I do go to their concerts whenever we're in the same town." she gushed.
