Ozzy Osbourne has died aged 76, just weeks after his farewell concert.
A statement from his children and wife Sharon Osbourne on Tuesday July 22 reads: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.
"He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."
The singer had been battling various health issues in recent years, including Parkinson's disease, something he and his family were very open about.
Known for his larger than life personality, Ozzy first gained fame as the lead singer of heavy metal band Black Sabbath, dubbing himself the 'Prince of Darkness'.
Earlier this year Ozzy and his Black Sabbath bandmates embarked on a farewell tour which see them travel around the UK playing their hit tunes.
In the build-up to the show, Ozzy’s wife Sharon said: "Ozzy's working with his therapist every single day. He’s doing really well, actually. Ozzy's number one thing in life is his fans, so he's working hard to be ready for them, to make this show the perfect way to end things."
After dominating the music scene for decades, Ozzy was introduced to a new set of fans in the early naughties when he, Sharon and their children Jack and Kelly took part in reality TV series The Osbournes which documented their hectic family life.
Ozzy was father to six children, Jessica, Louis and Eliot from his first marriage to wife Thelma, and Aimee, Jack and Kelly with Sharon.
