The GMB host says their two year relationship "isn't an achievement" and that fans deserve to know WHY they split up.
Piers Morgan thinks Cheryl Tweedy and Liam Payne have been "dishonest" about why they have split up.
Twice married Chezza, 35, and the1D hunk, 24, announced they are going their separate ways with similar Twitter statements last night.
The statement read: "We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It's been a tough decision for us to make.
“We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together."
Piers, 53, slammed the couple for their vague explanation.
He said: "It's always weird when people say they have so much love and respect for each other, well if you love each other that much what are you splitting up for?
"I always think these statements should be a little bit more honest, 'we can't stand the sight of each other'.
"In the end, if it's two years and you split up it's just you don't like each other any more isn't it?"
But that wasn't the only aspect of the showbiz split that he took issue with, adding that a two-and-a-half year relationship isn't anything to gloat about.
He ripped into the pair, saying: "Interesting isn't it that we now frame Cheryl Tweedy and Liam Payne's marriage as 'having lasted more than two years' that's how we described that."
As Susanna Reid, 47, corrected him by saying that they weren’t married, he continued: "Well their relationship lasted more than two years, as if somehow in showbiz circles that's bordering on miraculous."
