8 Reasons Why The Nation Loves James Norton
This young actor is all over our TV screens at the moment: From Prince Andrei to Lady Chatterley's Lover, from Vicar Sydney Chambers to just being himself. Here's why we love him!
1. Like a thief in the night, Prince Andrei stole our hearts in 'War and Peace'.
At first, we weren't so sure about this Prince Andrei character, who chose to seek glory at war instead of tend to his pregnant wife at home. But when he was made a widow, our hearts bled. Things began to look up again when he fell in love with Natasha Rostova (Lily James). Alas, it was not to last. Picture: BBC
2. As 'Granchester' is back on our screens, so is James Norton!

3. A topless Vicar Sidney Chambers got us hot under the collar...
We thought we fancied the Vicar with his shirt on but we all became a bit of a dither when Sydney went for a dip with his crime solving partner Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green). He stripped down to a pair of the tiniest shorts and we sort of forgot about the storyline... Picture: ITV
4. His talents know no end.
James Norton appeared on the 'Jonathan Ross Show' show alongside Johnny Vegas. The pair hit it off right away and even engaged in a beatboxing duet, which sounded quite good. But it was when he whipped out his clarinet and gave us a demonstration of his mad skills. Swoon... Picture: REX

6. 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'.
This was a heartbreaking story - if not quite raunchy! James Norton played the impotent husband of Lady Chatterly, who was paralysed after and accident at war. Despite a flawless performance, we can't be sure that we like the upper lip 'do... Picture: Press
7. Happy Valley's Tommy Lee Royce is NOT exactly our favourite character.
In the BBC crime-thriller series, James Norton plays a nasty piece of work. This is an exception to the rule of course. Picture: BBC
