An insider explained: "Bookers are very keen to get Anneka and know she would be a huge signing,

"After Debbie McGee’s popularity last year there is a sense the more mature lady does well and resonates with older viewers."

Anneka has reportedly had meetings with producers about joining the show, with the source adding:

"They’re in talks and hoping that she finally says yes."

The 59-year-old Blue Peter star grew popularity in the 1980s with her show Challenge Anneka.

Her news of joining the line-up comes after Shirley Ballas was confirmed to return to Strictly as head judge after taking over from Len Goodman in 2017.

Anneka has been tipped to appear in Strictly alongside the rumoured likes of Union J star Josh Cuthbert and TV presenter Maya Jama.

We can’t wait to see who else makes the list!
