The Celebrity Big Brother cast will be heading into the house in mid August.

Celebrity Big Brother's summer series is almost set to begin and now Channel 5 have revealed when the housemates will meet Emma Willis and enter the famous house.

The opening night of the show is set to be on Thursday 16th August at 9pm which is slightly later than previous summer series of the celebrity edition.

It is said that bosses decided to move the launch date by a couple of weeks to avoid competing with the hugely popular rival ITV2 show, Love Island.

Last year CBB's Sunday night viewing figures averaged at around 650,000 viewers with Love Island doubling their Sunday night figures with 1.5million viewers tuning in.

It's no wonder Channel 5 bosses don't want to clash air times with the ITV titan.

Love Island's ratings this year have so far peaked at an enormous 3.4 million viewers for the opening night of the show hosted by Caroline Flack and it continued to do well despite the World Cup and Wimbledon being on at the same time.

Channel 5 may have announced the start date of Celebrity Big Brother but the line up is still yet to be confirmed although there have already been plenty of rumours.

Emma Willis is also expected to be hosting the show again and Rylan Clark-Neal will be fronting the spin off show, Big Brother's Bit On The Side affectionately known as CBBBOTS.
