The actor has played Robert Preston since 2015 so nobody was expecting him to sound like this in real life!
Coronation Street has been entertaining us for years and we wouldn't change the thick northern accents of the cast for anything.
Many of the actors who star in the soap are from the neck of the woods the fictional Manchester suburb of Weatherfield is based in but we were surprised to hear that Tristan Gemmill who plays Robert Preston sound NOTHING like his character in real life.
The revelation came after Tristan visited the This Morning sofa to chat to Eamon and Ruth about an upcoming explosive storyline, but fans couldn't help but get distracted by his accent.
There was not an ounce of his brooding northern accent in sight and instead a more southern one - he definitely fooled us! It's no surprise he sounds decidedly 'posh' as he was born in Kensington, London but has also revealed he moved to Australia at the age of fifteen.
Corrie fans who also enjoy watching medical drama Casualty will of course already be very aware of his accent.
Tristan starred as Dr Adam Trueman on the more southernly based drama from 2007-2011 in which he kept his usual accent while dealing with the chaos of Holby City's Accident and Emergency department.
