The comedian set the record straight about his mystery chair after viewers spotted something unusual on Saturday's show.

David Walliams, 46, has revealed why he has a different chair to his fellow judges on Britain’s Got Talent - he's recovering from an operation.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed over the weekend that David’s chair was nothing like Simon Cowell’s, Alesha Dixon’s or Amanda Holden’s.

One fan wrote: "It annoys me that David has a different chair to the other three judges! #BritainsGotTalent."

But setting the record straight, David has taken to Twitter to explain that it’s all down to back pain.

The judge tweeted: “For those of you who want to know why I have different chair to the other judges on @BGT it is because I had a back operation to remove a disc after my Thames swim for @sportrelief and so need to sit on chairs that are specially designed for people with back problems."

As a result, the other three sit in black high back seats with silver arms, whilst David has a grey chair that has slightly different shape.
