Macaulay Culkin, home alone

Now Macaulay Culkin has said it, we can’t believe we never noticed before!

It’s the film we all know and love, where young Macaulay Culkin is forced to defend himself against two robbers, after his family mistakenly jet off to Paris without him.

In a recent interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon however, Macaulay revealed that the storyline could’ve been a lot simpler.

Despite his character, Kevin McCallister creating the most inventive machinery to scare off the thieves, Macauley pointed out that he could’ve saved himself a lot of hassle by just calling the police!

In the interview he explained: “This kid's a really clever kid, right?

“Like, these guys are about to break in, why doesn't he just call the cops?”

He went on to say: “He makes a master plan, he uses Micro Machines but for real, there's landlines…”

“I think that's the only thing and I think that's an enormous plot hole.”

“I don’t actually spend my days thinking about it, that was just the only one I can think of right now!”

Since Home Alone’s release in 1990 we can’t believe it’s only now we are noticing Kevin’s totally obvious solution.

To be fair, if he called the police, the film would have been over in minutes!
