With an Oscar-nominated role in 'Saturday Night Fever' in 1977 and 'Grease' the following year, Travolta was the big star of the late 70s. His star faded somewhat in the 1980s, but then he received another Academy Award nomination for Quentin Tarantino's 1994 movie 'Pulp Fiction', and he was back. He's since starred in films such as 'Face/Off' and 'Get Shorty'. He's been married to Kelly Preston since 1991, and they have three children together.
Olivia Newton-John was already a huge singer in her native Australia before 'Grease', but the classic musical film propelled her to new levels of fame. Since then, hits like 'Xanadu' and 'Physical' have helped her sell over 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the most successful artists of all time.
Three-time Emmy winner Channing was 33 when she was cast as the caustic-witted Rizzo. Now the most decorated of all the 'Grease' cast, she was nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her role in 'Six Degrees Of Separation' in 1993. Channing has won three Emmys and one Tony for starring roles in shows such as 'The West Wing' and 'The Good Wife'.
After reprising her role as Frenchy in 1982's 'Grease 2', Didi Conn has had roles on TV shows such as 'Shining Times Station' and, more recently, 'Law and Order: Special Victims Unit'. She has been married to composer David Shire since 1982, and they have a son together.
Like Conn, Stewart also appeared in 'Grease 2' - though rather than reprising his role, he played a gangster called Balmudo. In the 1980s, he guest starred in popular shows such as 'The A Team', 'Moonlighting' and 'MacGyver'. He sadly passed away in 1994. Picture: Photoshot
Following 'Grease', Dinah Manoff had roles in shows such as 'Soap' and 'Empty Nest', and she Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for her role in 'I Ought to Be in Pictures' in 1980. Manoff married Aurthur Mortell in 1997 and has three sons.
Since playing T-Bird Doody in 'Grease,' Barry Pearl has had roles on TV shows like 'Eight is Enough', 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents', 'Murder, She Wrote' and 'Beverly Hills, 90210'. He currently stars in 'Happy Days, The Musical'.
Like Barry Pearl, Tucci had a career in TV following 'Grease', starring in shows such as 'Diagnosis Murder'. Now 67, is now a fine arts teacher at St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge, California.
Conaway was married twice - the first time to Olivia Newton-John's younger sister Rona. He married his second wife, Kerri Young, in 1990, but they later separated. After spending some time in and out of rehab, Conaway passed away in 2011 of complications from pneumonia at age 60.
Lamas played Sandy's all-American jock pal Tom in a minor role in 'Grease'. He went on to bigger roles in TV productions, from 80s soap 'Falcon Crest' to crime drama 'Renegade' from 1992 to 1997. He returned to soap operas in the early noughties with 'The Bold And The Beautiful', before moving on to theatre acting. He is currently married to Shawna Craig, his fifth wife, and he is father to six children.
Eve Arden was the most experienced star in 'Grease', having previously had roles 'Anatomy of a Murder', 'Mildred Pierce' and 'At The Circus'. She reprised her role as Principal McGee in 'Grease 2', and published her autobiography, 'The Three Phases Of Eve' in 1985. She sadly died of cancer in 1990.
In 'Grease 2', Caulfield starred as smooth English exchange student Michael Carrington - Sandy from the original's cousin. After it bombed at the cinema, Caulfield found high profile work tough to come by for a couple of years. Eventually, he landed high profile roles on TV shows like 'Dynasty' and 'The Colbys' in the late 80s. He starred in several films in the 90s and Broadway in the mid '00s, before landing roles on UK soaps such as 'Casualty' and 'Emmerdale'.
Pfeiffer has had the most successful career of the 'Grease 2' cast. A year later, she starred in 'Scarface' opposite Al Pacino, going on to have lead roles in huge blockbusters such as 1992's 'Batman Returns', 'What Lies Beneath' (2000) and 'Hairspray' (2007). She has won a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for Best Actress, and received three Academy Award nominations. She has been married to second husband David E Kelley since 1993. They have two children together.
'Grease 2' failed to replicate the original's success, but Zmed still found lead roles in TV shows such as 'T.J. Hooker' and films like 'Bachelor Party' with Tom Hanks. He is currently in 'Surf The Musical' in Las Vegas. Zmed has two sons from the first of his two marriages.
McDonald has had a hugely successful film career despite 'Grease 2' flopping, starring in hits such as 'The Perfect Storm', 'Happy Gilmore' and 'Requiem For A Dream'.
Luft's career success has come on the stage, in productions like 'Guys And Dolls' and 'White Christmas'. Her 1998 book 'Me And My Shadows: A Family Memoir' was adapted into an Emmy-award winning TV mini series called 'Life With Judy Garland: Me And My Shadows' (Garland was her mother). Luft has two children from the first of her two marriages.
Frechette has appeared in TV shows such as 'The Facts of Life' and 'Taxi'. In 1989, he famously starred in a groundbreaking portrayal of gay relationships in 'thirtysomething'. His longtime partner is director David Warren.
