After years of turning it down, Ruth Langsford has finally agreed to dance her heart out on the ballroom dancing show, according to reports.

Eamon Holmes must be a proud husband as his wife and This Morning co-presenter Ruth Langsford has signed up to Strictly Come Dancing.

Her decision has delighted bosses who have been trying to get her on board for a number of years.

A source told the MailOnline: "Ruth has always been a big fan of the show, and producers are thrilled that she has changed her mind and will be taking part this year.

"No one has signed any contracts for the show this year but she has had long talks with show bosses and, barring any injury, will be waltzing her way onto the show this autumn.

"Eamonn is really excited about cheering her on."

The nation's favourite Saturday night dance show will return to our screens for a fifteenth series later this year, and will see a few shake ups along the way.

After veteran judging legend Len Goodman left the show at the end of the last series, the rumour mill is turning with speculation over his replacement.

But it's now been confirmed that Shirley Ballas will be the new face joining the panel!

The former 'Dancing With the Stars' panellist is "over the moon" she's been chosen to take over from the legendary Len Goodman - who quit the show last year - as head judge on the ballroom and latin series when it returns to screens this September.

She said: "I am so excited and over the moon to have been given this wonderful opportunity. I can't wait to get in to the ballroom and be part of the incredible and respected judging panel. 'Strictly Come Dancing' is so loved by the British public, I have always been a massive fan.  I just can't wait!"

the 56-year-old star - who is nicknamed the 'Queen of Latin' - will certainly give the other judges Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and Craig Revel Horwood a run for their money as she's one of the most decorated professional dancers in the world.

She is three-time British Open to the World Latin American Champion, 10-time United States-Latin American Champion, and multiple-times British National Champion.

Meanwhile, Alexandra Burke is set to take to the dancefloor after winning the X Factor back in 2008.

It's thought the sassy pop singer is hoping her appearance in the ballroom will help reignite her flagging music career.

The 'Bad Boys' hitmaker has been pretty successful since leaving the show, with lead roles in West End shows such as The Bodyguard Musical and Sister Act, but it has been a while since the actress has appeared on our tellies.

A source told The Sun: "This seems the perfect way for her to do it. She has heard a lot about how great the experience is and can’t wait to get started. She is already working hard on her fitness."

A spokesperson for the star is yet to confirm the star's appearance but said it was "nice" that she had been linked to the show.
