William and Kate's boat race

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will go head-to-head in a dragon boat race and dress as a cowboy and cowgirl during their eight-day tour of Canada.

Details of Prince William and Kate's trip to Canada next week have just been released and it's set to be a "fun", hands-on affair.

The newlyweds on their first official joint overseas tour will also travel by canoe to a remote island for a romantic night alone in the country's Northwest Territories.

The Duke is expected to get behind the controls of a helicopter in a flying demonstration on Prince Edward Island, while Kate takes part in a street hockey penalty shoot-out.

The Royal couple will attend the world-famous Calgary Stampede - an annual rodeo, as well as compete against each other in a dragon boat race across a lake.
