Taunton was packed for the homecoming parade of 40 commando Royal marines on Wednesday.
It's thought about 30 thousand people lined the streets to watch the march in heavy rain.
The unit has recently completed a tour of Afghanistan where 14 of their comrades were killed and many seriously injured.
The Mayor of Taunton Jefferson Horsley told Heart 'Today was very much about celebration, that doesn't mean we didn't think of the losses and those who were injured at all, I think the people of Taunton Deane now understand what trials and tribulations and suffering they went through.'
