£10k Haul Stolen From Hampshire Church
Burglars have stolen items worth £10,000 from a Hampshire church.
Police are appealing for information after silver and pewter valuables were taken from the church in Tadley.
They say some time between 7pm on Sunday, May 5 and 8.30am on Monday, May 6, an unknown offender or offenders have broken into St Paul's Church in The Green, Tadley, by forcing a vestry window.
Many valuable items have been taken, including chalices, ciboriums and patens. A digital projector and about £450 in cash was also stolen.
PC Ian Castle said:
"The items which have been stolen are of significant importance to the church. Many have been donated to the church and some date back to the 1700s. These cannot be replaced and in the eyes of the church are priceless.
"If you see any such items for sale or know anything about this incident, please contact me as soon as possible."
