Police in Southampton are appealing for help in tracing two men who attacked and robbed a 61-year-old man who uses crutches...

The victim was on his way home from having some food at the Kings House Oriental Cuisine in St Marys Road opposite the fire station at around 3am Friday, February 4th. As he walked away from the takeaway two men approached him and
spoke to him asking him if he had any cash or cigarettes. He told them he didn’t have either. They then told him he was lying and threw him up against the glass of another shop in the row. It caused him to fall to the ground – luckily he was not badly hurt.

The men frisked him and ripped his coat from him and made off with it towards the subway. It contained some cash, a mobile phone, keys, a lighter and some cigarettes.

The two robbers are described as:

1) Asian, aged around 20, 5ft 4 inches tall, slight build. Wearing a light royal blue hoody, dark bottoms and bright white trainers.

2) Asian, aged around 20 5ft 10 inches tall, slight build. Wearing a plain grey hoody and also had bright white trainers.

Officers are asking for anyone who thinks they may have seen the incident or the men involved to contact them as they may have important information which could help catch the robbers.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Claire Browne at Southampton Central Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
