Four men have been bailed after an 18 year old woman said she was indecently assaulted during a night out in Portsmouth.

Police say it happened on Thursday 28th October by Guildhall Walk.

Four men were arrested by police officers who were called to the scene shortly after 1am, Friday, October 29.

Three of them, 18, 19 and 22, were questioned on suspicion of sexual assault, the third, 25, on suspicion of rape. All were bailed until January 17.

Detective Constable Andy Larder from Portsmouth CID said:  “We were alerted to this incident by door staff at Babylon nightclub.

“They were concerned for the welfare of the woman who was seen walking round the back of the Guildhall area with a group of men.

“She is now receiving support from our Sexual Offences Investigation Trained officers and the Sexual Assault Referral Centre.

“As part of my investigation into this allegation of indecent assault, I’d like to hear from anyone with information about what happened.

“I’d be interested to hear from any other young women who may have been approached by a group of lads while out in Guildhall on Thursday evening.”
