5 Marathons In 5 Days!

A 30 year old man is due to be taking part in a number of marathons to raise money for charity.

Matt Hunt from the Isle of Wight is taking part in five marathons in five days to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Rainbow Centre in Fareham.

He'll start in Fareham and move on to Southampton, Petersfield, Guildford, West Sussex, Horsham and finish in Herne Bay in Kent. He will be taking on the challenge supported by work colleagues from Barclays, who will be joining him on different legs of the tour.

Matt is running to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust because a family member passed away from the condition when she was just 28. He is also keen to raise money for the Rainbow Centre because of the excellent work they do supporting children with Cerebral Palsy and other conditions.

Matt said:

"I wanted to do something different and I hadn't heard of anyone who had done five marathons before. I am delighted with the support I have received from Barclays and my colleagues there and will be stopping off at branches along the way for refreshments.

"I hope with my colleagues to raise £5000 to go towards two really worthwhile charities which I hope will help to improve lives."

Money raised will help to fund research into finding a treatment or cure for Cystic Fibrosis as well as providing much needed funds for the Rainbow Centre to help them continue their work with children and adults with impairments.
