Big Council Tax Bills In Hampshire

Poorer health service & fewer jobs but we're still paying more tax than London.

Heart's been told the funding Hampshire gets from the Government is so low that it's leaving us with bigger council tax bills than London and starving the region of new jobs.

A new report, that's taken 12 months to write, shows how the entire South East gets much less cash than places like the Capital, Birmingham and Manchester; that means WE have to pay more and average council tax bills in Hampshire are over £1,400 compared to the £1,300 in London.

Our local councils are now teaming up with 70 others across the region to urge ministers to change the funding system, are calling it unfair, and say it's harming economic growth and effecting things like our health services as well as risking new jobs.
