Brand New Lorry Cab Stolen

Police are trying to track down a brand new lorry cab which has been stolen in Chandler's Ford.

Police say a thief gained entry to the Hendy Van and Truck site by sawing through a padlock hasp on an external vehicle gate between 5.30 and 10.15pm on Friday, March 22. Once inside the site, the thief smashed the window of a white 18 tonne Iveco Euro Cargo chassis cab.

The £40,000 vehicle is a white cab on a black chassis.  It was unregistered and had no vehicle registration number.  The rear cargo unit had yet to be fitted.

PC Paul Osborne said:

"This is an unusual incident.  At this stage, we do not know by what means the cab was removed from the site.

"I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle on the road, whether it was being driven or towed.  I also would like to hear from anybody who knows the current whereabouts of the vehicle"
