Couples' Plans Ruined By Venue Closure

A South Coast restaurant has suddenly shut down, ruining plans for parties and weddings receptions.

NV in Southampton closed last week. Some couples with bookings there have been left thousands of pounds out of pocket.

There's been no sign of the venue's former owners, but it’s thought it’s been sold.

Lee-Ann Venn was due to have her wedding reception at NV next month. She had paid £6,500 for 150 guests. Lee-Ann told Heart it’s a big disappointment:

“It’s not going to be the dream day that we booked a year and a half ago. We’d been planning our own little touches on things that we’re not going to be able to afford to have now. The catering, the flowers, the cake, all the decorations, and we had loads of added extras, like chocolate fountains and pick and mix; they were doing absolutely everything. It’s not as if we’ve just lost the venue, we’ve lost the entire wedding reception”.

Lee-Ann and her partner have now found somewhere else, but she says it won’t be the same:

“At one point we thought it was going to be fish and chips for everyone. We’ve now got a venue, but obviously our day won’t be as perfect as we thought it was going to be”.
