Communication between Dorset Police and a Christchurch woman shortly before her death is being investigated.
Sharon Perrett was found dead at her home in Park Gardens on August 26.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is looking into whether policies and guidance were followed. The investigation was started after a mandatory referral from Dorset Police.
IOPC Regional Director Catrin Evans said:
“My thoughts are with Miss Perrett’s family and friends at this difficult time. We have made contact with her family and will keep them updated as the investigation progresses.
“Our investigators will be examining the nature of the police contact with Miss Perrett and whether Dorset Police followed local and national policies and guidance.
“As widely reported, Dorset Police are conducting a separate murder investigation and it is therefore inappropriate to comment further.”
38-year-old Daniel O'Malley-Keyes of Chestnut Avenue, Bournemouth denies her murder and is due to stand trial at Winchester Crown Court in February.
