Driver Dies In 4x4 Crash In Hampshire

Police are investigating the death of a 4x4 driver in a collision with a lorry on the A303 At Bullington Cross, north of Winchester.

Shortly after 9am, officers were called to the scene after a Dodge Nitro was in collision with an HGV.  It is believed that the 4x4 had just come off the slip road westbound when the collision occurred.

The driver of the 4x4 died at the scene.  The HGV driver was not injured but officers say he is very shocked.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Road closures stayed in place for much of the day while the scene was examined and the vehicles removed. The closures were lifted at around 4pm.

Police say they expect to release the name of the driver who died on Friday.
