Police in Southampton are trying to find a teenager who used a catapult to smash the passenger window of an articulated lorry
It was as it drove past on the approach to the Redbridge Roundabout on Redbridge Road.
The incident took place on Monday (14 July) at about 7.50pm as the lorry was leaving Southampton docks. The driver suffered a cut to his chin and was left extremely shocked by the dangerous act.
The teenage boy was part of a group of youths and is described as:
- aged 14-15
- he was wearing a black jacket.
PC Moseley from Totton Roads Policing Unit said:
“This is an extremely careless and dangerous act. The person responsible for this has had no thought about the potential for a more serious road traffic incident or for a more serious injury to the driver.
“I’d like anyone who was in the area of the Redbridge Road/Roundabout who may have seen the incident or seen a group of youths around this time to contact me on 101 as you may have useful information to help with this investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Moseley at Totton Police Station on 101, quoting 44140251009.
