Man Left With Broken Jaw In Attack

A 39-year-old man's been attacked and left with a broken jaw on Portswood Road in Southampton.

The man was walking along the road with his girlfriend and another man aged 32, when they were approached by drunken youths at the corner of Kent Street and Portswood Road at about 1:30am on Saturday, July 2.

The victim also lost several teeth in the attack and had to have surgery at Southampton General Hospital. His friend suffered
minor injuries. 

One of the youths involved in the attack is described as white, aged 15-19 years and around 5ft 6”. He had a slight build with blonde short hair and was wearing a white or light top with baggy jeans.

After the attack the youths walked off down Kent Street. Police believe the three youths involved may have been refused entry earlier in the evening at the Talking Heads pub in Portswood Road.
