Man Knocked Over In Chichester

Police say a man hit by a lorry on the A27 near Chichester yesterday was seen walking in the road just before the crash.

The 37 year old's recovering from serious injuries in Southampton General after the collision between the Wick and Stockbridge roundabouts. 

Hi injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. 

Both carriageways were closed but are now open although there is some congestion. 

PC Robert Blair said: 

"We were alerted to a man walking in the road and officers were quickly dispatched moments before the collision. 

''We would like any witnesses who saw the man before the collision to contact police on 101.
