Man Spotted Breaking Into Student's Room

Police in Portsmouth are releasing a CCTV still of a man suspected of breaking into a room at Highbury College, Cosham.

Sometime between 2pm and 3pm, Thursday, November 4, someone got into the tower block by following a resident inside.

That person then got into one of the student’s rooms through an insecure door and took items including electrical goods.

The suspect was filmed on CCTV leaving the building wearing some of the victim’s clothes.

He is described as:

White man
About 25-years-old
5ft 6-8ins tall
Medium build

PC Jacqueline Foley said:

“We’re trying to identify the man in the still who is believed to be responsible.

“The suspect would have been seen by lots of people at the college as he was locked inside the building after the burglary because of the swipe card security entry.

“I’d urge students to make sure they keep their doors locked and don’t be afraid to challenge anyone you don’t recognise before letting them into the building.”
