Have you ever wondered what it would be like to come face to face with Martians? What about Darth Vadar or even the Predator?

Meet them at Alien Invasion, a new exhibition at the City Museum which brings together famous aliens, monsters, props and costumes from some of Hollywood's biggest sci-fi blockbusters.

On show are creatures from Aliens, full size martians from Mars Attacks! and the horrific alien host from the X Files movie. Also on display are Yoda and Chewbacca from Star Wars. You may even spot some Doctor Who favourites.

Cllr Lee Hunt, Member for culture, leisure and sport said: "Alien Invasion will appeal to sci-fi fans, film buffs, big kids and little kids alike.

We've had some fantastic exhibitions at the museum recently including the Birth of British Rock which was the first time a touring exhibition from the Victoria & Albert Museum had been on display in Portsmouth. I am sure that Alien Invasion will be just as popular."

The exhibition starts next Tuesday (29 June) and is being opened by Dr Lincoln Geraghty, principal lecturer from the school of creative arts, film and media at the University of Portsmouth.

The exhibition runs until Sunday 23 January. For more information click here or call 023 9282 7261.
