One Man Dies in A30 Basingstoke Crash

Police say a 38 year-old man from Gosport injured in a collision between a Ford Transit van and a lorry near Basingstoke on Thursday has died.


A passenger in the van a 30-year-old man also from Gosport is still being treated for serious injuries.

Officers are investigating the fatal road collision involving a Ford Transit van and a lorry that happened at the junction between the A30 and A33 at Basingstoke on Thursday (September 29) at around 4:10pm.

Sadly the 38 year-old man from Gosport who was driving the Ford Transit died from his injuries the following day at Southampton General Hospital. His passenger a 30 year-old man from Gosport remains in hospital to be treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

The three people in the lorry were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

No-one else was hurt and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.
