Police Hunt Suspicious Driver

Police have issued an e-fit following a suspicious incident in Emsworth Road, Shirley between 3.15 and 3.25pm on Saturday, February 26.

A 19-year-old woman from the Hythe area had just been to a nail bar in Shirley, when she was walking back to her car the driver of a dark navy coloured people carrier asked her repetitively to get into the vehicle with him.

The woman walked back to her vehicle and locked all the doors before driving away.

This is linked to a similar incident in Fawley in 2009 involving the same woman and, it is believed, the same man.

The people carrier is described as an older style ‘boxy’ vehicle and two other men were passengers.

The man who spoke to the woman is described as:

White
Late 30s
Stocky build
Clean shaven head
Tattoo on the left side of his neck of the word ‘Lacey’ written in old style font with a bow design under the letter ‘c’

The second man is described as:

Black
43-45 years of age
Slim and slender build
Wearing a flat cap navy hat with a white star in the centre of it and short hair visible at the sides of the hat
Wearing a navy sports zip-up jacket with a white star on the left shoulder and a red and blue band design around both sleeves and the collar

The third man is described as:

White
Late 30s
Slim build
Short shaved hair
Stubble face
Gold loop earring in his left ear

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or recognises the man in the e-fit is asked to contact PC Mark Reynolds at Hythe police station on 101, or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
