Police Link Robberies In Southampton

In the first two men tried to rob a 25-year-old man in Above Bar Street near Guildhall Square shortly before 2am as he walked his way home from work.
 
They threatened him with a broken bottle and demanded he hand over his property but he refused and ran off to the nearby Revival Nightclub that was still open to get help.
 
The second incident was between 3.30 and 4am. A 22-year-old man on his way to the city’s coach station was stopped by two men who threatened him with a broken bottle and told him to give them his money. He said he didn’t have any and tried to flag downa passing van. The men stole the carrier bag he was carrying and ran off.
 
Police were quickly on the scene and the stolen bag was recovered near the junction of West Marlands Road and Commercial Road but the robbers weren’t found.
 
Neither victim was hurt.
 
The men are described as: Both being in their late teens to early 20s. The thinner one is thought to be around 5ft 7 inches tall and larger build man a couple of inches shorter.

The thinner man had dark hair with a fringe that slopped across his forehead. He was wearing a blue hooded top, jeans and dirty trainers and was carrying the broken bottle which was made of clear glass.

The larger build man had blond medium length messy hair and wore a dark hoodie and jeans.
